Corporate Accountant

Senior Director, Corporate Reporting & Tax

LOCATION:

156 Duncan Mill Rd. Toronto ON. (Mon/Wed/Fri)

351 King Street East. Toronto ON (Tue or Thur)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • General accounting and finance support including, but not limited to: documents filing, data management, basic accounting entries, office administration
  • Entering and posting journal entries
  • Reconciling and booking of Intercompany transactions for various companies
  • Corporate and partnership (T2, T5013, T1134 and T5) tax filings for a series of entities
  • Preparation of year-end working papers and financial statements under ASPEith notes and supporting backup for auditors
  • Liaise with external tax consultants as needed during review of tax filings
  • Writing out the remittance slips for monthly tax installments

             

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • undergraduate degree in accounting, minimum 2-5 years accounting and tax experience
  • CPA designation or in final stages of completion
  • Working knowledge of corporate and partnership taxation
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple assignments in an organized manner
  • Solid working knowledge of accounting practices as applied to consolidated financial and management reporting
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels/departments within the organization;
  • Strong self-starter with strong organizational, analytical, and time-management skills.
  • Detail-oriented individual with strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong team player with ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Superior Excel and Word skills;
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

 

 

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT

 

  • This person will split their time between two offices. 3x working out of our Uptown Office and 1x Downtown Office and one day from home.
