Great Gulf is seeking a talented and experienced Finance Coordinator to join our team in Toronto.

The Finance Coordinator will be an integral member of the Corporate Finance team, primarily supporting the preparation and management of financial reports, business plans, and cash flow. This role will focus on assisting with the creation, compilation, and management of the company's corporate cash flow forecast, ensuring cash inflows and outflows are tracked accurately and align with business objectives. The Finance Coordinator will also assist with quarterly financial reporting, business plan compilations, and tracking of credit facilities, providing valuable insights to ensure financial performance is optimized.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cash Flow Management:
    • Primary responsibility: Assist in the creation, compilation, and ongoing management of the company’s corporate cash flow forecast, ensuring it accurately reflects all cash inflows and outflows across departments and projects.
    • Monitor actual cash flows against forecasts, identify variances, and provide actionable insights to senior management for timely corrective actions.
    • Work closely with other departments to gather detailed data on cash flow expectations and ensure the cash flow forecast aligns with the company’s short- and long-term goals.
    • Help identify potential cash flow issues or liquidity risks and collaborate with the finance team to develop solutions to mitigate them.
  • Quarterly Reporting:
    • Assist in the preparation and compilation of quarterly financial reports for senior management, ensuring accuracy and alignment with corporate financial goals.
    • Coordinate with different business units to gather the necessary financial data to produce comprehensive and timely reports.
  • Business Plan Compilation:
    • Support the creation and compilation of the company’s annual business plan, ensuring financial projections, forecasts, and operational goals are included.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to collect data and insights needed for the preparation of business plans, including revenue and cost estimates.
  • Credit Facilities Tracking:
    • Monitor and track the company’s credit facilities, including debt covenants, loan agreements, and interest payments.
    • Assist in preparing and maintaining reports related to credit facilities, ensuring compliance with financial covenants and loan terms.
  • Financial Data Coordination:
    • Work with various departments to gather, organize, and validate financial data, ensuring its accuracy for reporting and forecasting purposes.
    • Maintain well-organized financial records and databases to support the efficient retrieval of information.
  • Ad-Hoc Financial Support:
    • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting support to the finance team and senior management for decision-making and strategic initiatives.
    • Assist in analyzing financial data to provide insights that inform corporate decision-making.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Contribute to identifying opportunities for process improvement within the financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management functions.
    • Help implement best practices to improve the accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of financial reporting and cash flow management.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related field, with a focus on cash flow management, financial reporting, and budgeting.
  • Experience in managing or assisting with cash flow forecasts is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with financial systems or software, such as Constellation Newstar, Microsoft Dynamics Navision, or similar tools, is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, financial modeling, cash flow tracking, etc.), along with knowledge of Word and PowerPoint for reporting and presentations.
  • A understanding of financial principles, particularly in cash flow management, financial reporting, and budgeting.
  • Familiarity with credit facilities, loan tracking, and debt management is beneficial.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to interpret financial data.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and other departments, while also being able to work independently when required.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Industry Experience: Previous experience in corporate finance, real estate, or related sectors is advantageous.
  • Professional Designations: While not required, certifications such as CFA, CA, or CPA are considered an asset.
