The Housekeeping Department is the heart of the hotel, and is responsible for the cleanliness, aesthetic upkeep of rooms, public areas, and property. No level of service, friendliness or glamour can equal the sensation a guest has upon entering a spotless, tidy and fresh area. We are building our Housekeeping Team to ensure the heart keeps beating!

Full time and part time positions available with various start and end dates ranging from June through October. We are hiring for the following positions: Houseperson, Room Attendants, and Laundry Attendants.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•    Receiving, sorting, and marking soiled linen and apparel.
•    Record improper cleaning or laundering of articles.
•    Preparation, washing, drying, folding of linen and garments.
•    Detail in folding the laundry and placing clean linen in the set locations.
•    Ensuring all linens are wrinkle free when folding, held to the resort standard 
•    All folds are the same, when you get taught.
•    Count chemical and linen inventory.
•    Recognize when chemicals are low either needing to be changed over and ordered.
•    Check laundered articles to ensure standards are met.
•    Being responsible for the laundry room ensuring the cleanliness is up to standard.
•    Knowing any health and safety risks and avoiding injury while working by following WHMIS protocol.
•    Knowing and recognizing the hazards when working with large equipment.
•    Reporting any discrepancies right way so they can be addressed.
•    Preventing any accidents by keeping the area clean and organized.
•    Stack linen supplies on storage room shelves.
•    Report any discards, so they can be recorded.
•    Follow the opening and closing procedure for the laundry department.
•    Knowledge of how to set priorities.
•    Knowledge of the linens we have in inventory.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills)
•    Must be able to understand, speak, read, and write English at a high school level.
•    Knowledge of hotel property, facilities, history, and region.
•    Understand how to use cleaning equipment, supplies and chemicals safely; follow WHMIS health and safety requirement when performing duties use PPE.

PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/REQUIREMENTS
•    Indoors in the laundry room – hot noisy environment.
•    Operating of loud and large machinery.
•    Exposure to chemicals when conducting the changeover.
•    Job requires you to be on your feet 100% of your shift.
•    Be in good physical condition to perform extensive walking, bending, kneeling, lifting, reaching, pulling, and stretching.
•    Able to lift twenty-five pounds. Lifting, carrying, and reaching up to 25% of time.
•    Be able to climb up and down flights of stairs in order to reach the laundry room.
