SUMMARY
The Front End Developer is responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing company websites using modern front-end technologies. This role focuses on translating completed designs into high-quality, performant web applications that provide exceptional user experiences.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain, update, expand, and troubleshoot existing websites and applications.
- Build and deploy new web applications, websites, and landing pages using Next.js and JAMstack principles.
- Develop and test responsive, accessible, and visually consistent HTML emails and email templates for marketing campaigns.
- Integrate APIs, headless CMSs, and other back-end services to deliver dynamic content to web pages.
- Gather and refine technical specifications and requirements for web projects.
- Optimize web projects for performance, accessibility, and SEO.
- Ensure accurate implementation of tracking tools like Google Analytics and manage campaign tracking configurations.

- This position requires both written and verbal communication skills.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven working experience in front-end web development.
- Strong programming skills with in-depth knowledge of modern JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Proficiency in React and Next.js, with familiarity with JAMstack architecture and headless CMS solutions.
- Solid understanding of web application fundamentals, including performance optimization, security, session management, and responsive design principles.
- Expertise in implementing and testing for web accessibility (WCAG standards), including the use of tools like Axe, WAVE, or Lighthouse, and ensuring compliance with ARIA best practices.
- Experience integrating APIs and working with tools like GraphQL or RESTful services.
- Adequate knowledge of Git and version control workflows.
- Strong understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices for web development.
- High attention and appreciation to design details, with a proven ability to follow project scopes and instructions accurately, ensuring work is delivered to specification and meets business requirements.
- Excellent collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams, as well as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

- This position is a desk job. The applicant will have the choice of working from the office at 351 King St East, Toronto, or working from home with the occasional day at the office.
