Designboom covers the upcoming ski village in Vermont, designed for Killington by Safdie Architects.
SAFDIE ARCHITECTS’ MOUNTAIN VILLAGE IN KILLINGTON
Just in time for ski season, new images of Safdie Architects‘ mountain village community in Killington, Vermont have been revealed. Backed by developer Great Gulf, this unveiling marks a significant step toward realizing the ambitious 450-acre project nestled at the foot of the 4,241-foot mountain. Enveloped by six mountain peaks, the project will introduce a village and luxury residential community shaped by modern architecture and resort-style living. Safdie Architects works together with PWP Landscape Architecture, to ensure a harmonious integration with the natural surroundings. A ski town for all seasons, the plan will include the East’s largest ‘ski beach’ and ski-in / ski-out access within the private confines of a residential community.
SKI-IN / SKI-OUT HOMES WITH MODERN ARCHITECTURE
The initial phase of Safdie Architects’ expansive project will introduce over 32,000 square feet of commercial space and approximately 225 residences to Killington, Vermont. These include meticulously crafted condominiums, townhomes, and single-family homesites, each offering the coveted luxury of ski-in / ski-out access. With the development, the design team is setting the stage for a community where architecture and lifestyle seamlessly converge.
